court date 4 months late

We received notice that we have a court date for August 23rd.  (the date we were originally given was April 29th -- of course that was a lie but that is the date that got us to head to Uganda and start our adventure) That is 3 full months away.  Not even gonna count the days.  If you have any good ideas for distracting oneself please pass them along.  Come over and start a 5,000 pc puzzle and then insist it get done b4 I go back...paint the foyer (which will involve renting scaffolding)...clean and organize the basement (yikes!!)...finish the basement into a playroom ("beautiful dreamer" is playing in the background)...catalog every photo in the giant box-o-photos from our entire 15yrs together and beyond...etc.  Any ideas?  pass them along!

  1. If U want some distracting things to do come with me Saturday. I'm heading to Bangor with Clayton & Grace Marsh to participate in a flash mob & after we are going to do a little geocaching. Sunday at 2pm we are going on a train ride into Belfast (from brooks I believe) and you are welcome to join us on that too.

If you are looking for some homebody things to do, I can come over & show you a few chords on my uke then you & your mad skills can show me how much better you can play it than I.

If you are looking for more distraction than a tiny 4 string instrument then why not have a murder mystery party. I have about 10 different ones you can choose from. Invite fiends dress up & pretend (at least for a night) that you are someone else transported into another place in time. Could be lots of fun...

Each Friday night they show a free movie at the Belfast Library. Its kinda cool. Weds the Ukulele group gets together to jam. That could be lots of fun too.

If you aren't working Friday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM is the opening of the Belfast Farmers' Market Main Street Festival.

Why not volunteer to help with the French Immersion this Weekend in Rockland:

Every 1st Friday night of ea month in Belfast is the Art Walk

Or take up ballroom dancing with Norm. It's great exercise, it can be very romantical if you have the right partner and its loads of fun.

Or just get together with your friends for tea and talks. Time always seems to fly when the girls get gabbin.

  2. I love the previous ideas! However, on a very practical level, I would recommend that you start making large batches of food and freezing them for those first weeks after you return home with the boys. Your life will be infinitely easier if all you or Norm has to do is grab something from the freezer, thaw and cook.
